Geography of Rome
One advantage that the Romans had with their geography is that the Romans were by water, so it was easy for them to trade with different cultures.
Another advantage that the Romans had because of the geography is that there were mountains. The mountains helped as a natural barrier to prevent thieves.
An advantage to the Romans because of their geography was that they had a lot of plains to domesticate animals. Also, because of the animals, they would have a type of transportation to ride.
A disadvantage for the Romans about their geography was that the mountains would isolate them from the other parts of Italy. They wouldn't be able to trade ideas easily.
Another disadvantage that the Romans had with their geography is that if you were on an island, you would also be very isolated with the other parts of Italy. You also wouldn't have the best communication with the other parts of Italy.
A disadvantage about the geography of Rome because the plains were really dry, so they couldn't grow good crops to harvest during the season.

Above is a picture of Romulus, the first king in 750 B.C.
King Romulus of Rome
King Romulus wanted his new city, Rome, to be by the Tiber river because it was very easy to access trade. The Romans traded a lot, weather it was goods or to transport people. Another reason why King Romulus wanted to be by the Tiber river was because he can have a good source to drink form. A disadvantage of being on the Tiber river was that when it rained, it would flood the city. Another disadvantage of being by the Tiber river is that when it floods it could kill the crops, animals, and people, and it would make the people work even harder to earn what had happened when it flooded.
